Description

Men are not the enemy, but they are the problem.
Women are wildly underrepresented at every level of the US government: federal, state, and local. Research has shown that women in legislative and executive political positions are far more likely than men to commit to policies that benefit women and girls of all kinds, so after centuries of underrepresentation, it's clear: our best bet for creating a system that is more fair, balanced, and just for everyone is electing our first Madam President.
Donald Trump's election didn't mean defeat, and his policies targeting women have not silenced them. Instead, women across the country have been motivated to speak out louder than ever before. There is no more powerful example of this than the Women's March of 2017held just one day after Trump's inaugurationwhich was a worldwide catalyst for ongoing change and a vehicle for systemic empowerment that hasn't stopped since.
Vote Her In is organized around the inspirational messages seen in protest signs carried at those record-breaking marches. Part One outlines the case for why we need to mobilize now, and Part Two provides a clear strategy for how to get there, with 13 tractable actions that women from all backgrounds can take to help get each other (or themselves) into executive political offices and work toward electing our first woman president in 2020.
In Vote Her In, author Rebecca Sive has leveraged her decades of political experience to give practical guidance, not just to women seeking political office themselves, but to all womenregardless of their prior exposure to political outreach and activismwho have come together to take action in the wake of Trump's election. This crucial book empowers every American man, woman, and girl who cares about our nation's democratic future to join forces and harness their collective power in the run-up to 2020 and, at last, to form a more perfect union.
It's easy to feel angry, but much harder to do something about it. Sive shows us how.
