The Australian Study of Politics provides the first comprehensive reference book on the history of the study of politics in Australia, whether described as political studies or political science. It focuses on Australia and on developments since WWII, also exploring the historical roots of each major subfield.
ROD RHODESis Professor of Governmentat the University of Tasmania and Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the Australian National University, Australia. He is the author or editor of some 30 books including Observing Government Elites: Up Close and Personal, The Oxford Handbook of Political Institutions, and Governance Stories (with Mark Bevir). He has been editor of Public Administration since 1986. He is Treasurer of the Australasian Political Studies Association, life Vice-President of the Political Studies Association of the United Kingdom, and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in both Australia and Britain.
