Our behaviour is at the core of what we do, yet we have very little understanding of why we act a certain way and are often completely baffled by what other people do. We are oblivious as to how we really work as human beings. DEFINING YOU opens a window into the process of psychological profiling in business and presents a clear path to improving your effectiveness with immediate actions and tangible tips.
Professional profiling assessments tell us how we are motivated, what environment we prefer, how we achieve our goals and our preferences of communication styles. The results enable the individual to personalise strategies for enhancing their leadership performance. While there are certain unchanging fundamentals in all successful leaders, in terms of likeability, intelligence, decisiveness, strategic thinking and specialist knowledge, the most effective leaders have been proven to be those who are emotionally intelligent. Those leaders who know their job but they can also read and adjust to their audience; they are self-aware and so tend to be confident yet humble. Socially sensitive, they understand how to get the most out of individuals and teams for the benefit of others. Such factors ensure they are trusted and respected - essential ingredients for success as a leader. However profiling is for the privileged few. Not every potential leader has the opportunity to embark on an intense process of self-refection. Fiona Murden, a leadership psychologist, guides you through the profiling process enabling you to fully understand your core drivers and interpersonal style. Including chapters on psychometric testing, 360 assessment, feedback and guidance on interpreting your results and taking steps to leverage your strengths.Defining You puts the spotlight on your own journey, helping you find your way to a happier, more successful life.
