Author Bio

Jeff Burningham has started, run, or been an early investor in over a dozen companies in tech and real estate, valued at over a billion dollars. He cofounded Peak Capital Partners, a $5B+ real estate investment firm, and Peak Ventures, one of Utahs premier institutional early-stage VC firms. He is one of Utahs most active early-stage venture investors, having written over two hundred venture checks in the last decade.

Jeff got his start as an entrepreneur, building a tech startup as an undergrad and later selling to a NASDAQ-listed company. In 2020, he ran for governor in Utah, and today, he sits on the boards of many of the companies he is invested in, serving as a mentor to some of Utahs brightest entrepreneurs. He also hosts a podcast, champions various philanthropic initiatives, and teaches a class each year on entrepreneurship to thousands of college students.

As someone who has lived in the Middle East and traveled to over sixty countries while earning an undergraduate degree in communications and an MBA, Jeffs proudest achievements are his marriage to his soulmate Sal and his four children, whom he has enjoyed coaching in football and basketball.
