"Intro to Group Therapy" is a powerful poetry book that dives into each aspect of the author's vulnerability while exposing some very hard truths. Her story is told through breathtaking poetry and imagery delivered to the reader within four segments Self, Love, Home, and Growth. Each poem explores the need to be understood and takes the reader on an unforgettable journey of self-discovery.
Throughout this exploratory book of poetry, the author faces every aspect of herself head on. She dives into complexities such as her scared inner child, and her abandonment issues that surface within her romantic relationships. It is a group session that is solely comprised of the many reflections of oneself. "Intro To Group Therapy" is just that of the name. It is a final release to the boiling tea kettle that is life and the first look of many into the mind of a young woman of color living in today's world.
Sequoia Ramirez was born and raised within Chicagoland area where she was raised by both her black and Latino family. She attended Dwight D.
