LETTERS TO A YOUNG FEMINIST is a visionary message from a leading feminist to the next generation of feminists. Phyllis Chesler discusses basic aspects of feminism, explains feminisms relevance in a world that has taken it for granted and derided it, and helps the next generation reclaim feminism for itself. Chesler examines sisterhood, sex, families, motherhood, work, feminist heroism, and the economics of power, providing guidance to the generation to come.
"Letters to a Young Feminist is a warm, political, irresistible guide for young feminists, women and men." Gloria Steinem
"A frank assessment of the past and radical recipe for the future." Chicago Tribune
"Chesler's is a strong but nuanced position: in considering patriarchy, she consistently points out that even successful women seldom have access to real sources of power, but she readily admits that support from women strengthens patriarchy, and that women (including feminist women) can be as cruel to their sisters as any man. A provocative message from one generation to another." Booklist
"Chesler does an admirable job. She writes poignantly." New York Times
