The order of priorities in the research process now followed in the human sciences tends to encourage the loss of the sense of the problem through the crude postulation of technical and human problems as equivalent. FRANCO FERRAROTTI is Professor of Sociology and Chairman of the Ph.D. Program in Social Science at the University of Rome. He is the author of several books on theoretical issues in sociology, including The Myth of Inevitable Progress, Five Scenarios for the Year 2000, and The End of Conversation.
