In Tales from Augustas Fairways, Jim Hawkins, who covered his first Masters in 1968, takes readers behind the high, thick hedges of Augusta National Golf Club for an intimate, entertaining glimpse of the classic cathedral that is home to golfs most enchanting event. Tales from Augustas Fairways takes an inside look at the greats, the amateurs, and the underdogs who have made the Masters the most revered, prestigious golf tournament in the world.
Jim Hawkins covered his first Masters in 1968, just in time to see Roberto De Vicenzo sign his infamous, erroneous scorecard. And he was on duty when Tiger Woods completed his asterisked Grand Slam. He is the author of books on former Detroit Tigers stars Al Kaline, Mark "The Bird" Fidrych, and Ron LeFlore, as well as the Detroit Tigers Encyclopedia.
Robert Hartman graduated from Hillsdale College in 1985, where he was captain of the Hillsdale golf team. After receiving his master's degree from Hollins University he began his career as a successful freelance writer. He now resides in Roanoke, Virginia.
