Jerry Beasley, EdD, is head of the martial arts curriculum and a professor of exercise, sports, and health education at Radford University in Virginia. He is founder of the Aikia World International Network, which has certified more than 1,100 black belts. He has been named a Black Belt magazine Instructor of the Year and is the author of JKD: High-Risk Sparring and Mastering Karate. He lives in Christiansburg, Virginia.
