This Judo instructional text details the famous Judo kata, or pre-arranged drill, called Ju No Kata, devised by the founder Jigiro Kano. The author was a direct student of the founder and at 90+ years old is his last living disciple. There is also a section in the book about her grandfather who had a famous Jujitsu School in Japan. His student Jigoro Kano founded Judo out of Jujitsu.
Sensei Keiko Fukuda is the highest-ranked woman in Judo. Her grandfather, Kachinosuke Fukuda, was was one of the three influential masters of Jujitsu who taught the founder of Judo, Jigoro Kano Shihan, in his formative years.
