Well-known fishing identity Mark Draper, with the assistance of Fish and Game and experts from around the country, has written this accessible guide to fishing freshwater in New Zealand. The book features topographic maps from North Cape to Bluff. The 1,000 spots cover a wide range of popular fish species such as Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Salmon, Mackinaw, Rudd, Perch, Catfich, Tench and Carp. For any angler, whether novice or seasoned, this book has something new for everyone. For those anglers who travel beyond their own district, they will find hundreds of spots, how to get there, permits, restrictions of season and method, difficulty rating and fishing tips.
In the early 90's Mark Draper, son of the famous outdoors man and author 'Keith Draper' decided to turn his passion into his career and became a very successful trout guide based out of Opotiki in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Much of his work revolved around multi-day guided trips, fly fishing for both fresh and saltwater species. Mark has written at one time or another for almost all NZ outdoors magazines and is a regular contributor to NZ Fishing News.
