Cycling is about more than competitive racing, lycra, and physical endurance; it's about joy, meditative wonder and spiritual enrichment.
Mindful Thoughts for Cyclists presents a series of focused meditations on why and how cycling can be a powerful practice of mindful awareness. From the pleasure of riding down a hill to finding the upsides of a puncture, Nick Moore steers us on an enlightening journey through the true value of riding a bicycle.
On it, he encourages a shift in consciousness of 'those obsessed with the facts of cycling and wanting to excel in it to experience the fact of it'.
"Nick Moore reminds us all that however frequently we may cycle, two wheels is always a rather magical way to travel." * The Simple Things *
Nick Moore (UK) is a cyclist, writer, and cycling journalist. He was a high-mileage 'MAMIL' (middle-aged man in lycra) for over 10 years and had an epiphany when diagnosed with osteoarthritis aged 40. Since then, he has learnt to enjoy cycling for the journey rather than the destination. He pens a daily cycling blog, and this is his first book.
