Bo Streiffert is a Swedish yachtsman with 50 years varied sailing experience including time spent in the Royal Swedish Navy as a navigation officer on torpedo boats. It was while he was an instructor on training ships, when still in his 20s, that he came up with the idea of the Skipper's Cockpit Guide and produced the first outline in a booklet which he used to teach the young people on his courses.
