World Checklist and Bibliography of Sapotaceae is the 5th in a series intended to document families of particular interest to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and contributes to current international efforts to record the world's biota. This present volume will fill a long standing need for complete summaries of its genera. The fruit of Sapotaceae is a key source of food for primates and other arboreal mammals as well as larger birds and is also of considerable economic importance.
