A wide range of tools and equipment, from compact tractors to chainsaws and from winches to torque wrenches, are employed on today's productive and efficiently organized smallholdings. There are few publications that provide the smallholder with comprehensive, technical and maintenance information and this well-illustrated book helps to fill a gap.
John Bezzant has been a smallholder for fifteen years, first in Wales and now on the rugged northeast coast of Scotland where he runs a five-acre holding stocked with dairy goats, poultry and ponies. He writes on hunting with dogs, air rifles and ferrets, and has had several books published on these subjects. John also writes about farm machinery, has built one of the flat-pack Siromer compact tractors and has restored classic motorcars.
