Description

Essays from two pioneering figures in the use of mass timber in architecture, Andrew Waugh (designer of the UK's first CLT building) and Alan Organschi (architect, professor at Yale, noted authority on high-performance timber architecture), Timber in the City explores construction in wood, one of the world's oldest building systems, which has become one of the newest and most innovative through the use of mass timber technologies (cross-laminated timber and glue-laminated timber). It also details work related to the Timber in the City Competition, which involved more than 1,000 students and emerging professionals, plays a high-profile role in current architectural education and teaching philosophies.
