Untold Stories is a retelling of the architectural history of the 20th century, bringing forward untold stories of the women who have worked in Danish architecture. The book introduces a new view on Danish Modernism by celebrating the skills and knowledge of the women of the period. Whereas books on Danish architecture history traditionally focus on a small group of men and their work on canonical buildings, this book re-explores the period from 1930-1980 by shedding light on a number of women, who are otherwise rarely mentioned - women who nevertheless contributed greatly to shaping Danish cities and landscapes, as well as the architecture of the modern Danish welfare state.
Architecture historian Jannie Rosenberg Bendsen is the author of several appraised titles, such as Drmmen om eget hus (The Dream of a House of One's Own) and Fredet (Listed).
Art historian and ph.d. Svava Riesto specializes in the city planning and landscape architecture of the 20th and 21st century.
Researcher Henriette Steiner teaches architecture, landscape, and urban history at the University of Copenhagen.
