Leplastrier's impressive architectural works are illuminated through a long personal interview and 150 photographs
Richard Leplastrier is a highly regarded Australian architect and educator, known for his modest, but poetic, beautifully crafted and environmentally sensitive approach to design. With over five decades of experience, Leplastrier has made significant contributions to sustainable and contextually responsive architecture.
Leplastrier, who turns 85 this year, has extensively been intervie- wed for this richly illustrated book by Adrian Carter, the founding Head of the Utzon Center in Denmark and formerly Professor of Architecture at the Abedian School of Architecture, Bond University, Australia. Together they explore Leplastrier's architectural philosophy, design principles, and notable projects. Through his work and teaching, he continues to inspire architects and shape the future of a more phenomenological approach to sustainable architecture.
Adrian Carter is an architect and professor at Adebian School of Architecture. He is internationally renowned, amongst others for founding and directing the Utzon Research Center. He has spent a month interviewing Leplastrier for this book at Jrn Utzon's House Can Lis at Mallorca.
