While this volume is compiled mainly for urban development policy planners, it is useful to the strategic planner for a multinational firm who is interested in understanding more about why urbanization develops the way it does and what can be expected by the end of the century. Chapters include discussions of the limitations of the data available from urban areas, the factors that contribute to urban growth and housing as well as several urban policy aspects. Statistical tables from The World Bank and the United Nations are included, but most data are on a country-wide basis rather than a city-by-city basis.
