Description

An architectural monograph which features one of the world's great cities and its landmarks. Features over fifty stunning photographs of the architectural gems of London. An introductory essay puts the city into perspective, looking at its architectural evolution from earlier times to the present day. Thumbnails of the images can be found at the back along with short explanatory captions. Throughout the centuries London has been a vibrant and highly influential city. A period in the doldrums passed as London was resurrected as the swinging place to be - the capital of 'Cool Brittania'. Modern architectural landmarks include skyscrapers of the City (the Lloyds Building, for example), museums (the Tate Modern) and curiosities (the Millennium Dome and Millennium Eye).
