Called the queen of plique-a-jour, after the historic and rarefied enameling technique, Luz Camino is the first female master jeweler in Spain. Camino had her first international exhibition in 1978, and since then her work has been a conversation with the world around her: everything from birds and flowers and shapes to rubber bands and even pencil shavings has been her muse. The book, the first monograph on Camino s work, showcases more than 200 of her creations, many shown here for the first time. Through images and sketches organized thematically by nature, geometry, life, and outer space and an essay by curator Clare Phillips, this book beautifully showcases the sophistication, innovation, and creativity of one most adept jewelers working today.
"For 50 years, the Spanish jeweler Luz Camino has wowed with creations that stretch the imagination. In April, Rizzoli publishes her first monograph and it has the distinction of a foreword by none other than Carolina Herrera."TOWN & COUNTRY
