This is a handy guide to a wide variety of bindings (books, boxes etc.) and how to do them, and the decorative techniques (marbling, printing etc.) that can be used to embellish them. The book is filled with illustrated step-by-step sequences showing how to make the various bindings and lots of finished pieces which will inspire the maker. The book is aimed at the beginner but it would also be a useful reference for the more experienced craft person.
'It's lovely to see a book that teaches such a traditional skill - and it's so clearly laid out, with easy to follow instructions, ideal for someone starting from scratch' Craftsman Magazine (March 2008)
Josep Cambras is professor of Bookbinding at the Arts & Crafts School of Barcelona. He is also a well-known bookbinding artist and his book bindings are in public and private libraries around the world. He frequently gives lectures and demonstrations throughout Europe and North America.
