The book includes approximately 75 of artist Gretchen Roehr's whimsical illustrations of women garbed in colourful fruit and vegetables, paired with humorous captions by Roehr. The majority of the illustrations are new and never before published; although the book will include a handful of Roehr's most popular and requested drawings, such as the banana peel jumpsuit, the swiss chard skirt, and the oyster dresses.
The layout is organised in a colorful arc, with the pages of illustrations following the colors of the rainbow. Flipping through the book the palette progresses through ROYGBIV. The design is charming and the entire package is conceived to be a lovely and playful gift book marrying colourful fresh food with chic fashion illustrations.
Gretchen Roehr's whimsical fashion illustrations combine colourful fruits and vegetables with ink on paper to create playful and chic ladies outfitted in kale gowns, banana peel jumpsuits, strawberry sheaths, blackberry miniskirts and much more.
