Libertine is the first comprehensive monograph on the vibrantly youthfulclothing line of the celebrated designer and tastemaker Hartig Johnson.Similar to personal style books such as Fashionably Selby and A PerfectlyKept House, but more intimate, this brilliant volume will inspire readers onhow to develop their own style, and is sure to appeal to fashionistas and thestyle-savvy, as well as to orbiters of fashion design, interior design, and theculturally inclined. With over 250+ color photographs, Libertine is an invitation into designerJohnson Hartig's world, offering a very personal look at his whimsical fashiondesigns, inspirational references, and his captivatingly eclectic home.
"Johnson Hartig's book Libertine deviates sharply from the glossy norm. For one thing, it's arranged not chronologically but via a mishmash of alphabetized references. Only here will you find Andr Breton and Andy Warhol sitting cheek by jowl with Andy Williams, or the late Pat Buckley sharing real estate with the hard-core band Wasted Youth."
