'Blackbarn' is a 256-page intimate look at Zeff's home via a superbly illustrated tour that reveals for the first time how he practices what he has preached for nearly 30 years re-defining what modern and luxury mean today. Not just about design, "Blackbarn' is about a lifestyle that redefines luxury, where the cornerstone is finding the right location and creatiing a home that is authentic to its surroundings. AUTHOR: A native of South Africa and educated in design in London, Mark Zeff launched his career in New York City, where he made his name creating homes for A-list celebrities like Gabriel Byrne, Annie Leibowitz, and Hilary Swank, as well as designing iconic retail, restaurant, and hotel environments for Moulton Brown, L'Oreal, the Hard Rock Hotel, Cornelia Spa, and The Red Cat, to name a few. The book was written in collaboration with design writer Jen Renzi, whose previous books include The Furniture Bible (co-authored with Christopher Pourny). She has written extensively for Architectural Digest and the Wall Street Journal. Colour photographs
"For house hunters who want turnkey but prefer a little more privacy and acreage with their acquisition, there are options like Black Barn, a fledgling brand from the designer Mark Zeff that bills itself as the anti-McMansion and, more to the point, looks it." --The New York Times, May 3, 2015
