This volume celebrates 50 years of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales, the first national youth orchestra in the world. The authors cover the contributions of significant individuals, such as Irwyn Walters and Arthur Davison, and record the names of hundreds of past members.
Beryl Bowen Jones was one of the earliest members of the NYOW (National Youth Orchestra of Wales). She now teaches music in schools in South Glamorgan and Gwent. Dr David Ian Allsobrook is a Lecturer in the History of Education at University of Wales Cardiff, and a member of the editorial board of the 'British Journal of Music Education'.
