Author Bio

Ashley Pearson is a Canadian writer and director based in London. Her directing work includes Don Giovanni (Opera On Location); Cos Fan Tutte, Orpheus in the Underworld, Die Zauberflte (St. Pauls Opera); Nerves of the Heart (Quest); Woyzeck (Powerhouse Theatre). Her work as a writer and librettist includes Music Oft hath Such a Charm (OperaUpClose, UK Tour); League of Youth, Coverage (Riot Act); Mary, Mary (Theatre Mensch). She was Associate Director of the 2017 Opera Works programme at the English National Opera. Mary Franklin is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Rough Haired Pointer. Directing credits include The Diary Of A Nobody (King's Head Theatre, White Bear Theatre); the World Premiere of Joe Ortons Fred & Madge (Hope Theatre); I Do Need Me (Tete a Tete); Boy (Arcola Theatre) and Christie In Love (Kings Head Theatre). Assistant directing includes La Traviata (Opera Holland Park); Blown Away (Lyric Hammersmith); Tosca (Soho Theatre, UK Tour); Quasimodo (Kings Head Theatre); and Filter (Sadlers Wells).
