You certainly can judge a book by its cover. In this case, Disco: An Encyclopedic Guide to the Cover Art of Disco shows just that. There are covers of records by artists such as Donna Summer, Village People, Teddy Pendergrass and O'Jays as well as lesser-known musicians.
