Marcello Geppetti was born in Rieti, Italy, in 1933. During the early 1960s, Geppetti became a world-famous paparazzo for capturing hundreds of impromptu snapshots of film stars like Anita Ekberg and Jayne Mansfield and other celebrities. He passed away February 27, 1998, leaving an archive of more than a million photos and negatives.
