[T]he volume is concise and easily used. It will be of good use to academic libraries supporting music programs, and anyone interested in the history of popular music.-RUSQ
This book adds strength to the already bountiful corpus of music reference works that are devoted to or include composer and conductor biographies. Furthermore, these are composers who, thanks to their popularity, library users are highly likely to be interested in.-Rettig on Reference
