The comprehensive bible for low-budget, independent film producing for emerging and professional producers.
Designed to use for production meetings with every aspect of the film producing process outlined in detail, including checklists to keep you on track, from pre-production to the first day of principal photography through to post production and delivery.
"This does what no book on production has done before--you actually can go out and make a movie after you read it. Ryan is one of the best independent producers working today and this book will show you why. Like her, it's thorough, thoughtful, and highly enjoyable. Whether you are a novice or a professional, there is much to learn here." --Ben Odell, producer, Radical, Acapulco, cofounder 3Pas Studios
"This isn't just another book about how to produce a film; this is THE book about how to produce a film. No other book comes close to the detail, organization, and vast amount of knowledge in this volume. I've assigned Ryan's book as a professor, and I've used it as a resource for myself as a producer. If you want to produce movies, Producer to Producer is as essential as a pair of comfortable shoes." --Jack Lechner, producer, Blue Valentine, The Fog of War; Chair/professor, Columbia University
"Ryan does for low-budget producing what Julia Child does for French cooking, simplifying the complex art of producing into clear, concise, achievable steps that come together into what looks like magic. With her book in hand, there will be a lot less rookie mistakes to regret. The wisdom of a veteran indie producer distilled into one of the clearest, ego-less guides I have read. She knows how much the details matter and never loses sight of the 'big picture.'" --Hilary Brougher, writer/director, South Mountain, Stephanie Daley
