Author Bio

Based in the Twin Cities, Karen Melvin photographs nationally for advertising clients, shelter magazines, architects, and interior designers. Melvins previous award-winning coffee table books of architecture and historic homes are regional bestsellers and include Great Houses of Summit Avenue and the Hill District (Minnesota, 2022), Legendary Homes of Lake Minnetonka, and Legendary Homes of the Minneapolis Lakes.

Melinda Nelson is an award-winning writer and editor with a passion for architecture, design, historic preservationand Lake Minnetonka. Since 1991, Melinda has lived in Excelsior, a historic town on the south shore of the lake, where she served on the Historic Preservation Commission. She is coauthor of Great Houses of Summit Avenue and the Hill District, winner of 11 national publishing awards and two preservation awards.
