The BMA Experience photography book covers the gatherings in May, from 2010 - 2020, in Memphis, TN, for the Blues Music Awards and Performances, The Blues Hall of Fame Induction, the Jams around town before and after the BMA evening, the trek out to historic Clarksdale, MS, on Saturday for the street performances and the Pinetop Crawfish Boil Fundraiser Jam. The photos also include all the fans and musicians who gather to create the blues community reunion. The creation of this book is a product of the COVID19 lockdown in early 2020, the subsequent cancellation of the BMAs, the cancelling of all 2020 tours, festivals, and gatherings. It is a fundraiser for the blues musicians who have not been able to perform.
Both an avid fan of blues and photography, Marilyn Stringer has been capturing the passion of the blues performers since early in the 21st Century. Her photography can be found on CD's, in magazines, and all over social media. She travels continuously through the festival season capturing the performances for both the venues and the musicians. Although her passion is photography, her other career is an accountant. This is the 3rd in a serious of photography books documenting the blues.
