Jim Marshall snapped some of the most iconic jazz and rock n roll images of all time. He documented the faces of the civil rights movement. Leica camera in hand, he had the power to look into the soul of an individual and to capture the mood of an entire generation. This book collects several hundred photographs from across his career: Intimate portraits, heady crowd scenes, and haunting street shots will transport the reader back to the 1960s and 1970s. A selection of proof sheets offer fascinating insight into his process. Quotes and in depth essays from his friends and contemporaries fill in Marshalls story. Published to coincide with a new documentary about his life and work, and presented in a wow-worthy package complete with die-cut slipcase, this is the essential book about a photography legend.
"Jim Marshall: Show Me the Pictureis not only an amazing celebration of Marshall's work collated by Amelia Davis, but also a warm, and sensitive insight into the man himself told in short essays by those closest to him." -- The Beat
