This stunning paperback showcases the winners and best entries for the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition. It accompanies a major exhibition from May 18 through September 2, 2013 at The New York Botanical Garden exploring a world of wellness and the healing power of plants. Also, during 2013 there will be International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibitions at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in October; Sydney Botanical Gardens, Sydney, in August; Fulham Palace and Bankside Gallery, London, in April and July respectively; and Schlossdennenlohe, Nuremburg, Germany, in May.
On the previous collection
"The book's pleasingly broad definition of 'garden photography' includes close-ups of leaves, insects, blooms and birds; the generous definition of 'garden' accommodates backyard plots, formal gardens like those at Prior Park in Bath, Czech farmland, and even the blobby, velvety green 'cushion plants' . . . in the arid mountains of Chile."--Wall Street Journal (9/19/2012 12:00:00 AM)
