While other books suggest pencils this one dives straight in with all types of ballpoint, from simple biros to gel pens and pens that can be used to write on a variety of surfaces.

There are some tips for shading and ideas about use of colour, but mostly you just dive straight in and get drawing. Each image has steps showing how to draw it, with none of those baffling-to-beginners jumps from a basic line drawing to a professional shaded picture.
