Description

Providing an important platform for new and ambitious work from the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia, the ninth installment of the Abraaj Group Art Prize features "seepage/ritual," an exhibition with the work of winner Rana Begum and the three short-listed artists: Sarah Abu Abdallah, Doa Aly, and Raha Raissnia. Organized by guest curator Omar Berrada, the exhibition explores a reconfiguration of our geometries of attention through a playful engagement with literal geometry. As a companion, this publication is conceived as a parallel exhibition in book form, and contains original interventions by and in collaboration with the artists.

seepage/ritual is published on the occasion of the Abraaj Group Art Prize 2017, Art Dubai, Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, March 14-18, 2017.
