One of 19th-century Berlin's premier artists, Adolph Menzel exhibited tremendous powers of observation, technical perfection, and an interest in a wide range of subjects. This volume contains approximately 115 plates of his work, with 16 pages of color. Author Bio
Hailed by Degas as "the greatest living master," Adolph Menzel (1815-1905) was the most prominent German artist of the late nineteenth century. In addition to more than 5,000 drawings, the prolific artist produced works in oil, watercolors, and gouache as well as etchings and lithographs.
