With over 400 sculptures, this volume documents the entire plastic work of a major protagonist of contemporary art. Alongside painting, sculpture is a fundamental part of the work of Paladino, who is considered one of the most well-known representatives of the Transavanguardia. Theorized in 1980 by Achille Bonito Oliva, this movement immediately stood out as one of the most significant tendencies of Post-modernism, challenging the artistic experimentalism of previous decades and advocating a return to more traditional expressive practices.

Art critic Enzo Di Martino has curated major exhibitions in museums in Italy and abroad. His most important books include Flying the Flag for Art (with Philip Rylands) (1993), and Mimmo Paladino l'opera grafica (2001).
