Description

Roger Cardinal surveys the full range of Nash's work, from the ravaged Flanders landscapes of World War One to the spectacular aerial battles of World War Two and the meditative late oils, his final masterpieces. He draws on Nash's own writings to explain the artist in his own terms and to bring out the continuity of his creative sensibility. This Reaktion classic is illustrated throughout with Nash's paintings, watercolours and atmospheric photographs. This is an essential guide to the life and work of this most poetic of English artists.
