Description

Warhol, Dr. Seuss and the Making of America brings to light the change art can make on culture and the physical look of the art and the intent and story behind it. This book takes the reader deep into the art and personal history of Andy Warhol and Dr. Seuss as well as the cultural movements in American 1950s and 1960s. To dive deeper into these famous artists and extract more information out of each of them is historially relevant.
The plot of this book compares the art of two of Americas pop artists and the American cultural "updates" to replace an old world with a dramatically new one. Consumerism, war, civil rights, fame, leadership style, environmental conservation, crime and punishment, religion, gender issues, imagination, and musicthese cultural values and issues have undergone remarkable changes which began in the 1950s and 1960s and their changes echo today in America. The artwork of Andy Warhol and Theodor Seuss Geisel reflect, and reinforced Americas move toward a growing skepticism of what had been widely accepted cultural values and meanings and acceptance of the formation of new ones.
