Comprising the centrepiece of Dark Mofo's public art project for 2015, McCall presents three major works: a filmed performance from 1972; Solid Light Works in a haze-filled warehouse; and a new commission from Mona, in which a dark ship sails nightly up the River Derwent, lighting the adjacent shore with a powerful pencil-slim searchlight and blasting its foghorn across the water. This catalogue includes images of the art as well as documentation of McCall's notebooks and related materials, with an essay by Jarrett Earnest and foreword by David Walsh.
Jarrett Earnest is a writer and curator, and the author of What it Means to Write About Art: Interviews with Art Critics (2018). He lives in New York City.
