Author Bio

A self-taught artist, Arthur Adams became a fan favorite at the age of 19 when he left a job making pizzas to pencil the critically acclaimed Longshot limited series, written by Ann Nocenti and published in 1985 by Marvel Comics. He has been in high demand ever since, as his highly distinctive and detailed artwork gained Arthur considerable popularity among fans and editors. He. has enjoyed being a cover artist as well as both the artist and sometime writer for miniseries, specials and annuals. In his career, Arthur has had acclaimed runs on many titles, including The Authority, Danger Girl, Excalibur, Fantastic Four, Gen 13, Guardians of the Galaxy, Godzilla, Gumby, Hulk, Jonni Future, Longshot, New Mutants, Ultimate X, Uncanny X-Men, Vampirella and X-Factor, to name a few. He also launched his creator-owned series Monkeyman and O'Brien in 1993 with Dark Horse Comics Legend imprint. Adams has provided cover images for issues of the Amazing Spider-Man, Appleseed, Avengers Classic, Batman, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Classic X-Men, Fear Itself: The Fearless, JLA: Scary Monsters, Red Sonja, Strange Academy, Ultraman, The Walking Dead and X-Men: Blue among other titles. In addition to his work in comic books, he also has produced popular commercial art, including numerous illustrations for trading cards, posters, shirts and various other comics-related merchandise. Outside the field of comics, Adams has provided illustrations for various magazines, movies and videogames. He also has worked in toy design, packaging art and even a series of X-Men-themed Campbell Soup cans. John Fleskes is the president and publisher of Flesk Publications. He has published dozens of books featuring some of the top contemporary and most revered artists in the field. Fleskes has contributed to numerous books as writer, editor and designer.
