This major new catalogue focuses on the place of 'Blue Poles' in Pollock's broader oeuvre, placing particular emphasis on the artist's shifts between abstraction and figuration. 'Blue Poles' is the centrepiece of the book, but this is supplemented by the discussion and reproduction of other key works in the artist's career. This substantial book contains over fifty beautifully reproduced images, all in colour and many in large-scale. The book's front section includes a Foreword by the exhibition's Director and an introduction by Anthony White. Contents include two major essays by Professor Terry Smith (Getty Research Fellow) and Jordan Kantor from Harvard.
