An unprecedented encounter with international music icons through the lens of photographer and director Anthony Ghnassia.
For years, Ghnassia has turned his camera on world-renowned artists (David Guetta, Pharrell Williams, DJ Snake, Justice, PNL), accompanying them on tour. While audiences are dazzled by electrifying stage performances, the photographer also experiences the unseen periods of reflection and release while traveling the four corners of the globe.
Sound of Silence offers an intimate glimpse into this world, with all its ebbs and flows. In this backstage pass, Ghnassia confronts the dizzying juxtaposition that is the daily life of touring artists: the transition from the contained set to the boundless road and sky, from the crowd to close companionship, from the lightning storm to the lull.
This book is an international tour of the world's concert halls, legendary festivals, and music capitals, from the Eiffel Tower in Paris to Las Vegas, as well as the sprawling landscapes that connect them. With a preface by Pedro Winter, a key player of the French Touch movement who turned an international spotlight on Daft Punk, Sound of Silence immortalizes once-in-a-lifetime experiences and presents musical superstars as never before seen, featuring exclusive, personal insights and over a decade's worth of photographs from Ghnassia's archive.
Anthony Ghnassia is a leading photographer and director, recognized for his creativity and unique approach to imagery.
